Student Government Association

What does SGA do?

SGA is not only the student governing board but also the campus activity board. SGA sponsors fun late night and weekend activities such as magicians, hypnotists, dodgeball tournaments, and various dances throughout the year. We bring the fun onto the campus of MMU! Want to get involved? Email sga@mountmarty.edu to find out how!

The purpose of the SGA shall be to:

  1. Provide for the organized conduct of student activities and promote the general welfare of its members, to represent at all times the rights, needs, and desires of its membership.
  2. Promote a better understanding between the university and its surrounding community.
  3. Insure each student a means of expressing his/her opinions and views on matters which concern the individual and/or the university community.

The membership of the organization shall be accorded to all students enrolled in Mount Marty University.

The executive officers of SGA shall be the President, Vice-President, Secretary, & Business Manager. Voting for these positions take place in April with their term starting June 1.

Senators-Senators are student representatives voted by their peers to be their voice. Six representatives from each class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior), six non-traditional representatives, and two residence life representatives also make up the legislative branch of SGA.
