Spring Break 2024: Italy

Expand your horizons.

If you’re looking for an institution with a broader view of the world, you’ve come to the right place. At Mount Marty, you can engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds. We believe exposure to other cultures makes for better lifelong learning — one of our four Catholic Benedictine values. We want students who are passionate about serving others in an increasingly diverse population. Based on this core value, we organize annual trips to Europe, and our groups always include a combination of Mount Marty University students and their extended families, alums, and travelers from the broader Yankton community. Students can enroll in ART 260: Art and Architecture in Europe, to gain academic credit for the trip.

Italy 2024.

Mount Marty University will be traveling to Italy in March 2024, with tentative dates being March 1-10. The itinerary will include Venice, Florence and Rome. Highlights on this journey will include Saint Mark’s Basilica and a gondola ride in Venice, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio Bridge and Michelangelo’s David in Florence, world famous Italian cuisine, and the Roman Forum, Pantheon, and the Colosseum in Rome. Day nine will feature a tour of Vatican City, including the Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter’s Basilica. We will have an expert Tour Director, local guides, and transportation in a private deluxe motor coach. This trip is open to students, faculty, staff, alums and community members. Travelers must be prepared to walk at least two hours on cobblestone streets, with some hills and stairs.
