Woven Photography Exhibit Slated for Mount Marty College Gallery in
October 31, 2018
YANKTON - Mike Jones’ “Woven Photography” exhibit will open on November 1, 2018 at the Bede Art Gallery on the campus of Mount Marty College. The collection of sculpted, color, black and white and archetypal/spiritual images will be on display through November 28. The artist will give a gallery talk on the 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Using his own photographs, Mike goes the extra steps of cutting the pictures into strips and then weaving theses separate images together to reflect the blend of perspectives emotionally perceived, physically creating three-dimensional photographic collage. Merging photographs into a unique amalgamated meaning creates a narrative greater than the independent nature of the photographs alone.
All exhibits at the Bede Art Gallery are free and open to the public Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 1105 W. Eighth St. in Yankton, on MMC’s campus, just off of the Marian Auditorium lobby.
