Mount Marty Announces New Flex Option Program for Service-related Degrees

April 19, 2018

Individuals seeking to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or human services will now be able to get their degree faster and can attend class in ways that fit inside of their busy schedules. In response to the needs of Watertown’s community and students, Mount Marty College – Watertown (MMC) recently announced the creation of a Flex Option program for their service-related degree programs.

The first of its kind in the state of South Dakota, the new programs will make it possible for students to attend classes — which are offered in an eight-week format and meet twice a week — from wherever they might be.

“Students who can’t make it to campus on a given day have the option to attend remotely using a platform that allows them to see and interact with the professor live from a remote location” explains Associate Director of Admissions, Heidi Schooley. “If a student is not able to attend a scheduled class in person or remotely, they can also watch a recording of the class at a time that works for them.”

This is just another way MMC strives to help students excel in their personal and professional success. Director of Mount Marty College - Watertown, Cristina Gordon says the program is a response to the varied needs of the Watertown community.
