12 MMC Athletic Programs Earn NAIA Scholar-Team Distinction

Twelve of Mount Marty College’s (MMC) athletic programs have been recognized by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as Scholar-Teams for the 2017-18 academic year.

The men’s programs that received Scholar-Team honors include cross country (3.28), baseball (3.23), indoor track & field (3.18), outdoor track & field (3.12) and golf (3.04).

The women’s programs that received honors were basketball (3.68), cross country (3.64), golf (3.29), indoor track & field (3.25), outdoor track & field (3.20), softball (3.48) and volleyball (3.32).

The MMC baseball team has been recognized as a Scholar-Team for 15 consecutive years.

To be eligible for the distinction, Scholar-Teams must have a minimum 3.0 GPA among all of their eligible varsity student-athletes. This year, 1,862 NAIA teams earned the Scholar-Team honor.
