BIOGRAPHY

Dr. T has been teaching at Mount Marty since Fall 2012. She was born and raised in West Philadelphia (also home to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). She attended twelve years of Catholic school in inner-city Philadelphia and then attended the University of Pennsylvania where she received a BA in American Civilization and an MS in Secondary Education. She began teaching in 1985 and has had various settings, courses, grades, and ages, teaching students from the ages of 4 to 97 years old. In 1997 she graduated with an MA in Theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. She worked fulltime at the University of Pennsylvania as the Payroll Manager while teaching biblical courses in the evenings to adults in Catholic parishes around Philadelphia and South Jersey. In August 2001 she enrolled in the doctoral program in Biblical Studies at The Catholic University of America (CUA), finishing her degree in 2010. She taught graduate and undergraduate courses at CUA 2010-2012, then came to Yankton to teach in the Religious Studies and Philosophy Department, now the Theology and Philosophy Department.

Dr. T began teaching at Mount Marty College (now University) in 2012. In 2020 she received tenure at the university.

Dr. T is a member of the Catholic Biblical Association, the College Theology Society, the Society of Biblical Literature, and the Kappa Gamma Pi National Honor Society.
