Mount Marty University Celebrates Class of 2025 Graduates
June 9, 2025
Mount Marty University recently celebrated its 2025 undergraduate and graduate students at commencement for both the Watertown and Yankton campuses. The Watertown ceremony was held on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, while the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies at Cimpl Arena on the Yankton campus were held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, on Saturday, May 3.
Mitch Reed, the Florence, South Dakota, superintendent of schools, gave the commencement address in Watertown. He discussed a person's 'why' and how to protect it during his speech.
Mount Marty President Marc Long provided the Yankton commencement address for both the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies. He instilled in the graduates wisdom on faith and what a person's calling is in life. Long was also honored with an honorary doctorate for his ten years of service at the university, as he intends to retire this year.
The ceremonies honored the students who graduated in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 and candidates for August 2025.
