Biography
Dr. Amanda J. Reinke (Dr. R.) is a researcher, trainer, and mediator. She has been mediating court-connected cases for over 10 years and multiple states, and has experience in restorative justice with juveniles. She trains others, including lawyers and judges, in mediation practice and is registered as a mediator in general civil, domestic relations, and domestic violence categories for the state of Georgia.
Research Interests
Dr. R. conducts research on legal work amid crises, such as disasters, and is especially interested in the ways bureaucratic procedures, rules, and rituals impact crisis survivors, and the practitioners attempting to help them. Her work has been presented domestically and internationally, and is published in peer-reviewed venues such as Qualitative Research, Human Organization, Journal of Disaster Studies, and in edited volumes and handbooks.
