MMC’s Cristina Gordon to Present on Lifelong Learning at the University of Central Oklahoma

March 6, 2018

Mount Marty College’s faculty and administrators passionately dedicate themselves to the intellectual and spiritual growth of their students, but some are unaware of the many ways their dedication to service and education extend beyond the local educational community.

On Thursday, March 6, Dr. Cristina Gordon, director of MMC’s Watertown campus will be at the University of Central Oklahoma’s 2018 Transformative Learning Conference presenting on a topic that is dear to the heart of MMC; lifelong learning.

In her presentation, “Teaching for Lifelong Learning”, Cristina will take conference attendees through an interactive look at transformative learning and explore why the continuous experience of lifelong learning is rarely addressed as part of the learning process.

The session will help participants identify the differences between the learning cycle and the lifelong learning experience, evaluate the instructor’s role, discuss the concept of reflection and the importance of feedback, and analyze the role of feelings that influence classroom learning. This is just one example of how MMC’s leadership team is working to impact the educational toolboxes of teaching professionals across the higher education community.
