Aquinas Lecture

Mount Marty College (MMC) in Yankton, South Dakota is teaming up with the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls and the Classics Institute at Dakota State University (DSU) in Madison in a new Initiative which seeks to deepen conversation in the diocese and region as it relates to the Catholic intellectual life. It’s a meeting of the minds as they gather for the first ‘Annual Aquinas Lecture’ which will take place at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls on January 31, 2019, and feature a talk entitled “The Life and Thought of John Paul II” by Joseph Bottum, director of the Classics Institute at DSU.

Homecoming begins with Sunday Mass, and continues with Game Night, free bowling and pizza and coronation, where Lord and Lady Marben are crowned. Cheer the men’s and women’s basketball teams and dance the night away at a homecoming dance.

Construction of MMC Fieldhouse to Begin Spring 2019

YANKTON — On Tuesday, Mount Marty College announced plans to construct a new fieldhouse on the college’s campus in Yankton, South Dakota. Construction of the fieldhouse is slated to begin in the spring of 2019.

MMC Hold 30th Annual Prayer Breakfast

On Tuesday, April 16, 2019 members of the local business community gathered at Mount Marty College for a celebration of the 30th annual Business Community Prayer Breakfast. The interdenominational prayer breakfast — which is a Holy Week tradition at the Mount — featured an opening and closing prayer by MMC student, Gabriel Leon, a performance by the student acapella group Smooth Benediction, and a presentation by Doug Ekeren, Regional President and CEO of Avera Sacred Heart which explored the topic of faith principles in business practices.
