MMC Holds 30th Annual Prayer Breakfast
April 16, 2019
On the morning of Tuesday, April 16, 2019 members of the local business community gathered at Mount Marty College (MMC) for a celebration of the 30th annual Business Community Prayer Breakfast. The interdenominational prayer breakfast — which is a Holy Week tradition at the Mount — featured an opening and closing prayer by MMC student, Gabriel Leon, a performance by the student acapella group Smooth Benediction, and a presentation by Doug Ekeren, Regional President and CEO of Avera Sacred Heart which explored the topic of faith principles in business practices.
Assistant Professor of Business, Lori Hofer said the annual gathering is a special morning for everyone involved. “Mount Marty is proud to partner with the Yankton community in raising up young ethical business leaders,” says Hofer. “Holy Week marks a wonderful time to come together as faculty, staff, sisters, students and Yankton business members to enjoy a time of reflecting on God‘s goodness to the college and the community of Yankton. We’d like to extend a thank you to Doug Ekeren and the Kiwanis club for helping with this event.”
The annual prayer breakfast, which is sponsored by the Benedictine Leadership Institute, the MMC Business Program, and Yankton Kiwanis happens each year on the Tuesday of Holy Week.
