Academic Merit Scholarships

All incoming freshman who will be enrolled full-time at the Yankton campus and meet minimum qualifications are eligible to receive a minimum amount of Mount Marty scholarships and gift aid.

These academic merit scholarships are renewed each year as long as you remain a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours per semester) in good academic standing.

Prestigious Academic Scholarships

Mount Marty is dedicated to making a private education affordable for students, which is why you may receive additional scholarships on top of your merit scholarship amount.

Up to $1,500 per year on top of academic merit scholarships. This scholarship honors Saint Scholastica, the sister of Saint Benedict.

Up to $5,000 per year on top of academic merit scholarships.

You are more than your grades, and Mount Marty awards scholarships that celebrate your passions and experiences. You can apply for the scholarships below to receive additional support. 

Amount: Variable
Eligibility: Full-time, Yankton campus traditional student or transfer who will participate in intercollegiate athletics.
Application: Apply for admission and receive a recommendation from a Mount Marty coach.

Amount: Up to $2,000
Eligibility: Full-time, Yankton campus student or transfer who is Catholic, meets admission criteria, and demonstrate financial need.
Application: Apply for admission and complete the FAFSA.

Amount: Up to $2,000
Eligibility: Full-time, Yankton campus student or transfer who is Catholic, meets admission criteria, with prior participation or experience in church activities and/or volunteer activities. This award requires participation in MMU Campus Ministry programs for renewal.
Application: Apply for admission, submit Application for Catholic Scholarship Awards. Interview is required.

Amount: $500-$1,000
Eligibility: Full-time, Yankton campus student or a transfer who is interested in participating in art, band, theatre or choir.
Application: Apply for admission and indicate an interest on your application. You can share your interest with your enrollment counselor, who will put you in touch with professors and other students in your area of interest.

Amount: $500
Eligibility: Full-time, Yankton campus students with a parent or grandparent holding a Mount Marty high school, undergraduate or graduate degree, or who currently have a sibling enrolled at Mount Marty University.
Application: Apply for admission. Student must indicate family member on their application.

Amount: $13,000
Eligibility: Students that have been a mentee in the TeamMates program for a minimum of 2 years.
Application: Apply for admission by January 1 and complete the FAFSA.

Amount: $16,000 or more
Application: Apply for admission and indicate an interest on your application. You can share your interest with your enrollment counselor.

Amount: Variable
Eligibility: Full-time student with expressed desire to be a principled and virtuous leader by following the four values of a Benedictine Way of Life: awareness of God, community, hospitality and lifelong learning.
