Program Type: Major

DO YOU LOVE EXPLORING THE GREAT OUTDOORS—CAMPING, HIKING, SKIING, BIKING? DO YOU ENJOY COORDINATING PROGRAMS FOR YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTER? MAYBE EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT WORKING AT AN AMUSEMENT PARK?

Then a career in recreation management and tourism might be for you!

EXPLORE, LEARN, AND PROTECT.

Maybe your love for recreation started when you played on your town’s peewee soccer team. Or maybe that time you went to that awesome summer camp where you got to ride the zip line! Perhaps your love of the great outdoors has been fueled by family trips to rivers and lakes. (They’re practically in our backyard!) Or maybe it was a longer trip to Yellowstone National Park, or even simply the fields of your family’s farm. With a bachelor’s degree in recreation management and tourism from Mount Marty Univeristy, you can turn your appreciation of nature and recreation into a career!

Our recreation program not only helps strengthen your connection to the natural world, it also equips you with the latest innovations in technology and provides hands-on field experience in recreation and business—allowing you to acquire a sufficient business foundation to enter a variety of starting positions for many commercial recreation corporations. Plus, you’ll still have plenty of opportunities for incredible recreational internships and balanced outdoor class experience and classroom learning, which means you’ll be competitive in a variety of entry-level positions in the recreation services, tourism, and hospitality industries!
