Mount Marty University to host REBOOT event with guest speaker Chris Stefanick

August 26, 2025

Mount Marty University will be hosting a faith-filled event called REBOOT with guest speaker Chris Stefanick. The event will be held on Oct. 22, 2025, at 7 p.m. in Cimpl Arena.

REBOOT is a two-hour event where Stefanick will speak on using the Gospel in every aspect of a person’s life and will equip you with tools to live the life God created for you. This event is open to anyone 12 years and older, regardless of your faith practice.

Barb Rezac, Ph.D., vice president of mission and community engagement at Mount Marty, said, “We received a grant from the Catholic Community Foundation of Eastern South Dakota to provide a speaker for our Magnify at the Mount series.” Magnify at the Mount is a series of evening events throughout the school year hosted at Mount Marty for high schoolers to attend and grow in faith and community with one another. “It so happens that the parishes on both sides of the river, St. Martin of Tours Pastorate in Southeast South Dakota and Our Catholic Family in Northeast Nebraska, were looking for a similar opportunity for spiritual development for all ages. We joined forces and came up with this opportunity. We are excited to not only host Chris Stefanik but all the wonderful people of the two pastorates on both sides of the river. The event is for everyone, those practicing and those not practicing their faith. His message will help us all rediscover joy in our lives!”

“Jesus says in Luke’s Gospel, ‘Oh how I wish the world were on fire,’” said Father Jim Keiter of Our Catholic Family. “Chris Stefanick is one of those disciples in the world today who helps ignite and reignite the fire of faith in Catholics around our country. It is a great blessing to have Chris back in our area for this REBOOT, and I hope people take advantage of this opportunity and come to this great event at Mount Marty.”

Father Tom Anderson of the St. Martin of Tours Pastorate said, “Everyone needs a spark from time to time. Chris Stefanick is such a dynamic speaker. My hope is that people will come away with a new fire for the Lord, the church and for evangelization.”

A total of 20 parish communities are invited to the event. The five Knights of Columbus councils between the two Nebraska and South Dakota pastorates will be hosting a free meal of hot dogs and chips from 6-6:45 p.m. in the Mount Marty athletics' meeting room, located in the Avera Science and Nursing Complex, before the event that evening. All those planning to attend the REBOOT event are welcome.
